Thanks to everyone at Derby Magic Circle for giving me such a warm welcome for my magic lecture on Wednesday night. Good to meet up with some old friends from the Nottingham Guild as well and get up-to-date with what’s been happening in the magic world in the East Midlands.
Set building today at Picton Castle, getting ready for three day’s worth of Halloween hauntings starting next Wednesday afternoon. This Beast Behind Bars is actually my mate Karl putting up our “Ghost Train”-style maze. If you’re able to come next week (and do come for the adult tours in the evening – much more fun!) watch out for our Seance Room, the Nasty Nursery and meet our Alien Invaders.
Thanks to the National Trust at Newton House in Carmarthenshire for my first Halloween booking for 2015. Next year we will be running the popular “History and Hauntings” night on three evenings, from Friday October 23rd to Sunday October 25th. This year’s one night offering proved so popular that they have decided to extend the event and are adding a family-orientated walk at the start of each night.
That pretty much sums up how we are feeling after five long, long days of scaring people this Halloween. That’s not make-up, by the way, but the rings around Karl’s eyes after successfully getting through it all. Picton Castle was the busiest it has ever been with full tours for both the adult and family shows on all three days. Castell Coch was an amazing backdrop once again for some terrifying tales and weird and wondeful magic. Now for a short break before we work out how to top all that next year.
