The very latest noose from my world of magic. Just been booked to take my lecture to the Leicester Magic Circle in January. Very much looking forward to meeting my fellow magicians in my home town and exposing them to my very own brand of bizarre entertainment. The lecture is on Monday 18th January at Braunstone Civic Centre.
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. May your Yuletide be full of good cheer and companionship and 2016 be the very best year ever.
Congratulations to everyone who was involved in last night’s Christmas concert by A Choired Taste at Christ Church in Carmarthen. So proud of the amazing Moli for her beautiful solo when they sang You’ll Be In My Heart – not to mention being part of the girls’ “supergroup” singing Nadolig Pwy a Wyr – and in Welsh, too! It is absolutely incredible how far the choir has come in such a little time. A huge achievement by their conductor and arranger Sarah Kirby and by all the women taking part.
I have teamed up with Carmarthen’s Oriel Myrddin Gallery to offer a one-off guided walk on Saturday January 30th to celebrate the town’s Victorian Villains. It is part of the gallery’s Notorious exhibition which runs from early January to March 2016. Inspired by the photos of convicts in Carmarthen gaol taken by one of the prison’s 19th century governors, there are a number of lectures and other events taking place alongside the exhibition. More details to be found on the gallery’s website by clicking HERE.
Huge congratulations to Jake, Pippa and the wonderful cast (and director) of Red Riding Hood, the Christmas children’s show at London’s Pleasance Theatre. With a feisty Little Red and the coolest Big Bad Wolf ever it is London’s Metro newspaper’s pick of the week’s theatre shows – and given the competition in the capital that is amazing acclaim.
First experience of “Britain’s Got Talent” was good fun – meeting researchers Alex and Becky in the Old Police Station in Carmarthen. Alex filmed in the spookiest cell while I did a number of tricks for Becky – I think she was quite freaked out by the experience. She found the cells scary enough without me reading her mind and then telling her the time that she would die! The video now goes off to the producers before they decide whether or not to invite me to “audition” properly. I won’t be holding my breath . . .
